Students and Faculty of the postgraduate class in Natural resource management and Local development in the Amazon-PPGEDAM, of the Center for the environment-a, the Federal University of Pará – UFPA, a technical visit took place in the environmental protection area (APA) of Algodoal-Maiandeua during the days 11, 12 and 13 May. The action aimed to present visitors with experiences of use, ownership and management of natural resources developed in the coastal area in the Northeast region of the State of Pará.

Worldwide, there is, on the one hand, universal logic of the urbanization process in the neo-liberal context and the emergence of urban society, on the other. Such logics if deploy in national and local social realities. In general one can note the existence of two major differences of dynamic between Latin America and Europe. Particularly from the point of view of the construction of urban spaces, the brazilian Amazon very specific features. One of the most important of these features is the persistence of the coexistence of territories of high density and low density, without intermediate transition.
